If you no longer sell a product, the actions you can take depend on its current status.
Depending on that status, you may be able to delete, retract, or archive the product, as described below.

Draft Status - If a product is in Draft status, a GTIN has not been assigned to the product yet.
To delete a draft product:
1. Select Edit Product.
2. Click Delete Draft Product on the right.
Deleting a draft permanently removes the product from GS1 US Data Hub. Any information entered such as brand name, or product description is no longer saved.
PreMarket Status - If a product is in PreMarket status, you can retract the GTIN so it can be assigned to another product.
To retract a PreMarket GTIN:
1. Select Retract PreMarket GTIN.

Note: Per the GS1 General Specifications, “an allocated GTIN shall not be reallocated to another trade item.” Before retracting a PreMarket GTIN, review General Specifications, Section 4.3.5 to understand the requirements and risks.
In Use Status - When a product is In Use, the GTIN and product record are permanently linked.
The GTIN cannot be deleted.
The GTIN cannot be reassigned to another product.
If the product is no longer sold, you can archive it.
To archive an In Use product:
1. Select Edit Product.
2. Click Set Status to Archive on the right.
Archived Status: Product details cannot be changed once a GTIN is in the Archived status.
The only available action is to return the product to In Use status.
To reactivate an archived product:
1. Select Edit Product.
2. Click Set Status to In Use.
