Export Product and GTIN Data
You can export product and GTIN data for the products managed by your company in your GS1 US® account. Exported data is delivered as an XLSX spreadsheet and can be used for review, reporting, or updating product records.
View the instructions below to export your products and GTIN data.
1. Login and navigate to My Products & Barcodes link from the top navigation bar.
The My Products & Barcode screen displays, listing all products created for your company in your GS1 US account. This list includes products for all GS1 Company Prefixes to which your company has licensed.
You have three export options:
Use this option to export only specific products. You can select the checkbox next to each product you would like to export, and then select Export Selected Products. Only the selected products will be included in the export file.
Use this option to export a subset of products based on filters. For example, you may want to export only In Use products. After you filter the products, click Export All Products. Only the filtered products are exported. For the date field, you can enter a specific date to display just the products modified on that day.
Use this option to export all products without applying filters. Click the Export All Products button. All products will be exported, including those in the Draft, PreMarket, In Use, and Archived status.
Note: The maximum number of products you can export at one time is 100,000. If your company has more than 100,000 records. You can run additional reports to export the remaining data.
3. When the Export Products dialog box displays click "Yes". The message "Export Request Successfully Submitted. Click the Export icon for file progress and results." will then be displayed in a green window.
4. Click the Manage Account in the upper right corner of the screen. Then navigate to the Export Center. The most recent export will be displayed at the top. The Export Center also displays any other export reports requested by other users from your company.
Note: The XLSX files are removed after 30 days. When these files are removed, the product data stored in your GS1 US account is not impacted.
5. Click the file link to open the XLSX file. How this file displays will vary depending on your Web browser. When you open the XLSX file, you'll see that products are sorted numerically, in order of GS1 Company Prefix, then GTIN.
Note: Any products in the Draft status are listed first because the GS1 Prefix and GTIN cells are blank. To learn the definitions of the values within the XLSX file, view the Product Import User Guide, Appendix A.
A. No, each barcode image must be downloaded individually. When you export product data, the barcode image files (artwork) are not included.
To download the barcode image, view the product detail record.
PreMarket products will show a barcode symbol image with the watermark “FPO” (For Placement Only). This is not the final barcode. The product detail record must be set to In Use before the final barcode symbol can be created for download.
