Industry Definitions

These definitions help categorize and describe the various sectors involved in the production, distribution, and sale of goods and services.

Definitions:

Apparel: Industry focused on the design, production, and sale of clothing, footwear, and accessories.

Consumer Packaged Goods: Industry that produces goods consumed daily by the average consumer, such as food, beverages, health and beauty, paper and cleaning products.

Finance/Banking: Industry that deals with the management of money, including banks, investment companies, armored carriers, and cash processing facilities.

Foodservice: Industry that prepares and serves food and beverages to customers, including restaurants, cafes, cafeterias, hospitality, and catering services.

Fresh Food and Upstream: Industry involved in the production and distribution of fresh food products (protein and plant based), including farming, harvesting, and initial processing.

General: Broad category that can encompass various industries not specifically defined.

General Merchandise: Industry that sells a wide range of products, including household goods, electronics, and toys.

Healthcare: Industry that provides medical services, manufactures medical equipment, and develops pharmaceuticals (OTC and prescription).

Retailer: Industry that sells goods directly to consumers through various channels, including physical stores and online platforms.
