Class of Trade is a classification primarily used by the pharmaceutical industry to meet federal and state pricing and reporting requirements.
For example, pharmacies use Class of Trade codes to classify their organizations, which helps manufacturers determine how products are priced and reimbursed.
Class of Trade 1 is optional when you select any Industry other than Healthcare. Non‑pharmaceutical options are available for these selections.
When Healthcare is selected as the Industry, all Class of Trade fields are required.
Class of Trade 3 values are dependent on the Class of Trade 2 value you select.
